TRAINER & FOUNDER

Steve Mills

Steve Mills had a 30-year career in banking, with more than 20 years in project finance.

He held senior roles with the HSBC group, Sumitomo Bank and Commerzbank before becoming Head of Oil and Gas Project Finance for Royal Bank of Scotland in the City of London.

In 2008 Steve decided to devote himself to training and development work in the project finance sector and for more than twelve years he has developed and delivered training in a wide range of project financing fields by means of public courses and tailored tuition structured for clients with particular needs and interests. A particular focus of his work in recent years has been the structuring and implementation of tailored PF training – at introductory, intermediate and “masterclass” level – for ECAs, multilaterals and development finance institutions.

For a number of years a tutor on the Global Energy MBA at Warwick Business School, and a former Visiting Professorial Fellow in the Centre of Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London, Steve has written articles on project financing for a wide range of industry journals.

Steve’s key interest currently is the development of distance learning products in the field of limited-recourse finance, as an alternative or complement to classroom-based training. As an adviser on curriculum design and content, he brings to CCC a wealth of training experience and “road-tested” materials and tools.
