Philosophy Our theme is "Belonging". It applies to both the community and the staff and recognises the long history of traditional ownership. We believe that ral teamwork is the essence of good clinical care and staff support. We believe in flexibility of employment and the importance of defining a career structure for individual doctors. To this end, GP Registrars wil be supported by Consultant GPs and supervised by dedicated GP Educators.
Training style There will be: Introductory sessions in the use of the Best Practice clinical software package as well as Pen CAT, Sessions when the GP Educator sits in with the GP Registrar if they are in a junior or advanced term, Weekly case conferences when multidisciplinary clinicians learn from each other, Mini-CEX experiences, Joint tutorial sessions with Shell Cove Medical Centre, Ad hoc teaching, Patient teaching whereby the patient is asked to give feedback on the consultation or the outcomes of the consultation, Assistance given to access GPRIME, Videotaping of consults (with patient and GPR consent) and debriefing, and Monthly practical teaching sessions taken by Special Skills GPs who have qualifications in their own specialty field of interest.

Demographic Area 76% of our patient catchment was born in Australia. 30% are aged less than 17 years. 10% are aged more than 65. Fewer than 5% of residents aged over 15 are unemployed. Fairly affluent population.
Community Strong sense of local community with permanent community worker organising BBQs and other community events. Rapidly growing area supported by two local primary schools and a private local high school.
