Philosophy We are committed to promoting health, well being and disease prevention with all patients. We do not discriminate in the provision of excellent care and aim to treat all patients with dignity and respect.
Training style Each registrar is allocated a supervisor from the practice and the teaching hours per week are a mix of formal and informal sessions. We consider observation to be an important teaching tool. Various methods are used in our teaching, we encourage videotaping, case presentation and use a one on one teaching in most instances. We are a teaching practice for the ANU Medical School, hosting students several times per year.
Special Interest As the only clinic in Eden, we cater to a very broad range of patients. Of special interest to our GPs are Obstetrics and Antenatal care, Paedeatrics, Skin Cancer care,Womens Health and Emergency Medicine. on site we do Minor surgery and Minor Trauma care as required. We are building a strong base with Preventative Health and Chronic Disease management. We are accredited to do AMSA medicals and do a large number of Industry medicals. Audiology ans Spirometry are done at the clinic. Aboriginal Health is a major concern in our area and together with the Healthy for Life Team, we are making big progress in their ongoing care. Curalo Clinic is the primary care giver to the two Aged Care Facilities in Eden, giving Geriatric care to over 100 patients locally. Curalo Clinic is a teaching practice, hosting medical students from ANU university several times per year.

Allied Health Staff 1 Full time Registered Nurse and 1 Part time Enrolled Nurse. We have, on a weekly basis, visiting Counsellors, a Dietician and a team of Aboriginal Health Workers (Healthy for Life) who use our rooms and facilities. A pathology collection service within our building provides a convenient and efficient service.

Demographic Area We are the only practice located in Eden, currently the population is around 5000 people with a larger number of patients being drawn from the outlying smaller communities. Patients range all ages and socio-economic groups with approximately ten percent being of Aboriginal descent. Eden is very much a working town with employment in the fishing and timber industrys most prominent. Tourism is playing a much larger role in more recent years. The population of Eden and the surrounding area increases dramatically during the summer and School holiday periods.
Community Eden has a local government primary school as well as a Catholic primary school. Eden Marine High is very well respected with a reputation for receiving very good results in the HSC. This High School is the primary High School for the southern part of the Sapphire Coast, providing education for students from Wolumla to the north, Wonboyn to the south and Wyndham to the West, as well as Merimbula and Pambula. They currently offer many Maritime based courses which are not traditionally offered in High Schools. There are also Catholic and Christian Primary and High Schools located 15 minutes to the north of Eden, in Pambula. Buses provide transport between all towns for students. There is a community health centre located in Eden, which provides a full range of allied health care.

Additional Eden is located on the beautiful Far South Coast of NSW, halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. The coast is also known as the Sapphire Coast and is surrounded by National Parks and beautiful beaches. The NSW Snowy Mountains ski fields are only two hours drive away and provide an easy weekend away. Eden is a popular destination for bushwalking, camping and fishing. Eden is serviced by a local airport 20 mins to the north, which provides several flights daily to both Sydney and Melbourne.
